"Glamour
An irresistible alluring quality that somebody or something possesses by
virtue of seeming much more exciting, romantic, or fashionable than ordinary people or things..........
I've come to investigate"
Baksheesh productions© present a documentary, working title "Defining Glamour" which will look into the
last 50 years of the industry in Britain ranging from Diana Dors, to smoke drifting off a cigarette.
Inbetween we'll be chatting to photographers, models, make-up artists, costume designers.
Delving into the psychology behind cosmetic surgery, the fantasy, looking at changes in body shape, attitudes, censorship, boundaries.
Entering the doors of fashion houses, Burlesque, casinos, and much more...
The idea for a documentary came when a photographer friend Fred Grierson died last year leaving 1000's of transparencies, photos, and negatives of models taken in the 60's. I researched them and made contact with some of the 50 or so models, I spoke to them about that period and discovered how things had changed, or maybe its going full circle? some of the models I talked to were the top Glamour models of their times, and were photographed by some of the pioneers of that genre. I've been lucky enough to be invited to look through archives and use images for the documentary by both the models and the photographers.
I currently work in tv in Central London with the very people who portray the modern image of Glamour. I have a wide network of colleagues who are very excited and expressed willing to help make this project come alive, they range from tv presenters to miss uk's, magazine editors to agents, all working in and around the Glamour world.
With your help I'd like to include your definition.
Please let me know if you can help or would like to contribute in any way, also any questions please ask.
